The Republic of Shaelia (Shaelic: Naunabe Šaeleneiri), also known as the Shaelic Commonwealth (Shaelic: Ma Šaeleaða Ganunade), the Commonwealth of Shaelic States (Shaelic: Ma Ganunade Šaeleaða Puvinurum), or simply Shaelia (Shaelic: Šaelanei), is a modern, prosperous nation in the Northern Hemisphere on the continent of Eras. The Commonwealth's neighboring nations include: the Greater Zartonian Empire to the east and south, and the Lyson Empire to the west. To the north of the Commonwealth lies the Polaris Ocean, and to the west lies the North Gronkian Sea.

Apart from the mainland, Shaelia controls or claims dozens of islands in the Polaris Ocean and the North Gronkian Sea. Most are no larger than a football or rugby pitch and uninhabited. The most significant of these islands include Tuona (pop. TBD) off the western coast of Pisyra, and Gamriu (pop. TBD) located off the northwestern coast of the state of Shilbett.
